A candid podcast reveals many secrets of Bollywood award shows and relationships once again. This time, it is from the perspective of the model-turned-actor Muzammil Ibrahim.

In a recent podcast with Siddharth Kannan, Muzammil shared some inherent secrets of Bollywood and his relationship with Deepika that used to trouble him in those young years. Bollywood award shows, politics behind them, injustice, and overlooked talent; his accusations are grave.

Muzammil Ibrahim Claims That He Deserved the Debut Award

According to Muzammil, his performance in Pooja Bhatt's Dhokha was not only well-received by critics but also praised by industry veterans. He did not hesitate to claim, "I 100% deserved the Best Debut Award" in place of Ranbir for Saawariya.

Muzammil further revealed that even legends like Irfan Khan and Nana Patekar praised him for his role as Inspector Zaid in the film. He claimed that Irfan Khan told Bhatt Sahab that very few actors could do that role. While Nana Patekar said to him that he would not receive the award, even though he deserved it.

He opens on the Biasedness of Bollywood Award Shows

Muzammil expressed his disappointment with how awards in Bollywood are distributed. He shared that, although he was nominated as a debut actor in many of the awards shows in 2007, few of them were invited.

He shared how disheartening it was for him to later see that Shah Rukh Khan announced his name for the nominations. His bold claims yet again highlight the "Nepo favouritism" cases, which may often overshadow the young, talented actors who are outsiders.

Relationship with Deepika

Muzammil Ibrahim even somehow blamed his breakup with Deepika Padukone on Bollywood politics. He said they had been in a relationship for two years. They both were young, talented, learning, and growing. They even go on dates in a rickshaw, but this innocent love cannot be sustained over time.

Muzammil Ibrahim's Career Graph

After his debut, Muzammil's Bollywood journey didn't take off as many had expected. Despite his striking screen presence and critical acclaim, he worked in only a handful of films like "Will You Marry Me" and "Horn 'OK’ Pleassss." The last time we saw him on screen was on the "Special OPS" web series on Hotstar.

Muzammil Ibrahim's revelations shed light on the harsh realities of the entertainment industry, where talent doesn't always guarantee recognition. As the industry continues to face scrutiny over nepotism and favouritism, Muzammil Ibrahim's Claims add depth to the conversation around fairness and credibility in Bollywood.
