Neha Singh Rathore of UP Mein Ka Ba fame served police notice; Akhilesh Yadav reacts with own version

Neha Singh Rathore of ‘UP Mein Ka Ba’ fame was served a legal notice by the Kanpur Police over her song allegedly inciting hatred though its music video.  For those who don’t know, UP Mein Ka Ba was released on February 16, 2022, just ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022. Previously, the singer had released a song titled ‘Bihar Mein Ka Ba’ before polls in Bihar. The notice has been served to the singer asking who wrote the lyrics of the song.

Neha Singh Rathore reacts to notice

Neha Singh has now reacted to the notice and said UP Police;s activism needs to be appreciated. She shared that Kanpur Dehat police reached her home and handed over the notice to her father in law. Today, they have reached Delhi as well, she revealed/

In the video, she said, ‘Some people are saying why I ask questions only to the government! You tell… To whom should the question be asked? The government has prepared an army of government poets to ask questions to the opposition… there should be someone who can ask questions to the government!’

Akhilesh Yadav shares own version of ‘UP Mein Ka Ba’

“Who is making you do all these?” she asked the cop. Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia has reacted to the notice saying, “Is the BJP so scared of the voice of a folk singer?”

Samajwadi chief, former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav also reacted to the police notice to Neha Singh Rathore. He shared his own version of the song that read,” “UP mein ka ba, UP mein a spate of fake cases ba; UP mein poor-farmers are distressed ba, UP mein attack Dalits-backwards ba; UP mein businesses crashed ba; UP mein corruption ba; UP mein publicity without work ba; UP mein wait for next elections ba; UP mein BJP out in next elections ba.”

In the notice, the police has alleged that the song created a situation of disharmony and tension in the state. She has been asked to reply to the notice in three days.
