The makers of O Romeo have released their new song “Aashiqon Ki Colony” online. The dance number features Shahid Kapoor with Disha Patani and has been launched as a special Valentine’s Week track. While it is meant to be a fun and festive dance anthem, early reactions suggest that many viewers are not impressed.
“Aashiqon Ki Colony” is a recreated version of the 90s hit “Neeche Phoolon Ki Dukaan” from Joru Ka Ghulam. The song gives the old track a modern twist. Disha Patani appears as the dancer Julie, while Shahid Kapoor is seen dancing and flirting with her. The 3-minute-23-second video includes glossy visuals, colourful costumes and stylised dance steps.
The music is composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, with lyrics by Gulzar. Singers Madhubanti Bagchi and Javed Ali lend their voices to the track. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the song has been promoted as a high-energy number designed for the Valentine’s Week release window.

Sharing the song, the makers wrote, “Ishq ka itr mehenga tha… par le liya. Aashiqon ki colony mein… ghar le liya.”
Soon after its release, the song found its way to Reddit, where netizens shared mixed but mostly critical reactions. Many felt the song lacked impact and effort. Some ever criticised Disha and compared her to Tamannaah Bhatia, Sharvari and others.

About The Film
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, O Romeo is a gritty action-romance thriller set in post-independence Mumbai. Inspired by real events documented by S Hussain Zaidi, the film follows Hussain Ustara, a feared contract killer who gets pulled into a dangerous world of love, revenge and crime after a woman named Afsha approaches him for help.
Shahid Kapoor stars as Hussain Ustara, with Triptii Dimri playing Afsha. Avinash Tiwary appears as the antagonist Jalal, while Nana Patekar and Farida Jalal play important roles. The cast also includes Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia and Disha Patani in a special appearance.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, O Romeo is reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 150 crore. The film is set to release in theatres on February 13, 2026, just ahead of Valentine’s Day.
