Bollywood star Jackie Shroff attended the prayer meet of veteran actor Pankaj Dheer at the ISKCON temple in Juhu. The event was held to pay respects to Dheer, who recently passed away after a long battle with cancer. Amid the solemn mood, a video of Jackie confronting a paparazzo has gone viral.

In the clip, Jackie looks clearly upset with the cameraman for following him too closely during the ceremony. Speaking firmly, he said, “Tere ghar mein, apne ghar mein hoga toh samajh raha hai na? (If something were to happen in your house, you’d understand, right?)”

The cameraman quickly replied, “I wasn’t doing anything.”

The prayer meet honoured Pankaj Dheer, best remembered for his iconic role as Karna in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat. Dheer passed away on October 15, 2025 at the age of 68. CINTAA shared, “With profound grief and deep sorrow, we inform you of the passing of our Trust’s erstwhile Chairman and CINTAA’s former Hon. General Secretary, Shri Pankaj Dheer ji… The cremation will be held today at 4:30 pm, next to Pawan Hans, Vile Parle (W), Mumbai.”

About Pankaj Dheer: Career And Family

Pankaj Dheer was born on November 9, 1956, in Punjab. His father (CL Dheer) was a well-known director. Pankaj grew up in Mumbai and studied at St. Theresa’s High School and MMK College. Though he wanted to become a director, acting came to him with a role in Sookha. This started a career that made him a household name.

He was married to Anita Dheer and had two children. His son, Nikitin Dheer, is also an actor, married to television actress Kratika Sengar. They have a daughter, Devika. Pankaj remained close to his family and supported their careers.

He became famous for playing Karna in Mahabharat (1988–1990), winning awards like the Uptron Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. He acted in popular TV shows such as Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, Chandrakanta, The Great Maratha, Yug and Bado Bahu. He also appeared in films like Sadak, Soldier, and Baadshah.

Pankaj contributed to the industry by co-founding Visage Studioz in 2006 and starting the Abbhinnay Acting Academy in 2010. He fought cancer bravely in his later years. Despite surgery, the illness returned and he passed away on October 15, 2025.
