The trailer of Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam was launched on Tuesday, September 29, at Mumbai‘s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attended the event and used the moment to recall the 26/11 trial of Ajmal Kasab.

Why The Launch Was Held At CSMT
CSMT was one of the sites attacked during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, which makes it closely tied to the film’s story. The makers chose the station for what is being described as a first-of-its-kind trailer launch for a Hindi film.
What Fadnavis Said
Fadnavis thanked Maddock Films for taking up such an important subject. He said the country could have chosen a quick and harsh end for Kasab, but the police and the justice system instead showed the world that India follows the rule of law. There was no kangaroo court, he added. Guilt was proved through evidence and witnesses.
He also thanked special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, saying Nikam not only secured a hanging for the terrorist but also exposed the wider conspiracy behind the attack. Fadnavis praised Rajkummar Rao as an accomplished actor and urged every Indian to watch the film, calling it more than entertainment.
About The Film
Prahaar is directed by Avinash Arun Dhaware and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films. Rajkummar Rao plays Nikam, while Lalit Prabhakar is seen as Kasab. Wamiqa Gabbi and Jaideep Ahlawat also feature in pivotal roles. The trailer opens with Nikam asking a young girl what she saw that night, and later shows Kasab claiming he came to Mumbai as a tourist.
Rao said he felt a deep sense of responsibility while playing Nikam. He also spoke about his own memories of the 26/11 attacks, calling those three days very scary.
