Actor Saif Ali Khan will be joining forces with south superstar Prabhas for Om Raut directorial ‘Adipurush’. Saif has earlier worked with Om Raut in the 2020 blockbuster film ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’.
Adipurush, which is a period drama, will feature Saif as the prime antagonist Lankesh. Prabhas took to social media to announce Saif’s role in ‘Adipurush’ and wrote, “7000 years ago existed the world’s most intelligent demon.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan was also thrilled to announce Saif’s involvement in the much-anticipated project. She shared the poster on her Instagram profile and wrote: “Presenting the most handsome devil in the history…my man Saif Ali Khan.”
Notably, Saif also played an antagonist in his previous collaboration ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero’ with Om Raut which starred Ajay Devgn in the titular role.
In an official statement, the makers of the film said: “Saif Ali Khan had impressed audience with his stellar performance in Tanhaji: the Unsung Warrior. He will be seen again playing India’s biggest villain of all time and for the same, the trio of Saif, Om and Bhushan Kumar are coming together again, after Tanhaji. Saif will play the principle villain in the film. He will be the villain, deadly and ruthless.”
Adipurush, which be Prabhas’ 22nd film, is said to be an adaptation of Indian epic ‘Ramayana’. The film will be shot in Hindi and Telugu while it will be dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and several international languages
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, the film is scheduled to be released in 2022.
