Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has shared an important update about his upcoming film Sarkar 4. The director confirmed that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will not be part of the much-awaited sequel. This has surprised many fans, as they were expecting her to return to the popular political drama franchise.

In a recent interview, Ram Gopal Varma spoke about the film’s story and cast. He said the new part of the Sarkar series will be bigger and different from the earlier films. The movie will explore a wider world and focus on new events happening behind the scenes.

The Sarkar franchise is one of the most famous film series in Hindi cinema. It started with Sarkar, followed by Sarkar Raj and Sarkar 3. Actors Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan played the lead roles in the earlier parts and are expected to return again in the fourth film.

Aishwarya Rai NOT In Sarkar 4, Ram Gopal Varma Confirms

During the interview, Ram Gopal Varma was asked what fans can expect from Sarkar 4. The director said the story will be on a much larger scale this time. He told IANS, “I mean, of course, obviously, the story is different and the world will be far more, I mean, expansive this time, in terms of being dedicated to close-ups, and I am making the subject matter on what happens behind, on a much bigger scale.”

He was also asked if Aishwarya Rai Bachchan would be seen in the film, especially because Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are returning. Replying to this, the director clearly said, “No, no, no. Aishwarya is not there.”

He did not explain the reason for her absence. Because of this, it is not clear whether Aishwarya Rai said NO to the film or if her character is not part of the new story.

Her Role In Previous Film And New Story Of Sarkar 4

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan appeared only in Sarkar Raj (2008), the second film in the series. In the movie, she played Anita Rajan, the CEO of an international power company. Her character started the main story by bringing a big project to Maharashtra and working with Subhash Nagre, played by Amitabh Bachchan and Shankar Nagre, played by Abhishek Bachchan.

Her role was important in that film, but she was not part of the first movie or Sarkar 3. Now, with Sarkar 4 focusing on a new storyline, the director seems to be taking the franchise in a different direction.

Ram Gopal Varma has said that the new film will show more political drama and behind-the-scenes events on a much bigger scale. The story will introduce new characters and conflicts, which may be the reason why some old faces are not returning.
