Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan made a quiet but touching gesture on Saturday evening. The actor visited veteran screenwriter Salim Khan at Lilavati Hospital. Salim Khan, 90, has been admitted since February 17. He is also the father of Salman Khan.
No photographs of Shah Rukh Khan inside the hospital appeared online. However, paparazzi accounts captured videos of his car entering the premises late at night. Reports say he stayed for nearly an hour before leaving. Salman Khan was also reportedly present with his father at the time.
Netizens React To Shah Rukh Khan Visiting Salim Khan At Hospital
As paparazzi pages posted clips of Shah Rukh Khan’s car, online comments flooded in. Entertainment page Instant Bollywood shared the clip on Instagram.
Reacting to it, a user said, “Ye itne din baad aaya.” Another commented, “Finally agya milne bhai ke darr se.”
A third user said, “Get well soon Salim uncle.”
Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan share a bond that goes back more than three decades. Despite past ups and downs, their friendship has remained strong. Over the years, they have worked together in films such as Karan Arjun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Pathaan and Tiger 3.
Shah Rukh Khan has also spoken openly about Salim Khan’s influence on his career. In several interviews, he credited the legendary writer for inspiring and guiding him during his early years in Bollywood.
Salim Khan’s Health Update And Legacy
Salim Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on February 17. According to medical reports, he suffered a minor brain haemorrhage. Doctors later confirmed that his condition is stable.
A hospital statement explained that Salim Khan was brought to the emergency department by the family doctor. Doctors then shifted him to the intensive care unit (ICU) for close monitoring. He was admitted at 8.30 a.m. under the care of Dr Jalil D Parkar (pulmonologist, Department of Chest Medicine).
Dr Jalil Parkar clarified that surgery was not necessary. He stated, “There was no surgery performed. It was a procedure which we usually do. Yes, he had a brain haemorrhage, which was very minimal and did not require any surgical intervention. There was no need for any surgery.” He further stressed that the haemorrhage was “very minimal.”
Since his admission, several well-known names from the film industry have visited him. These include Aamir Khan and Javed Akhtar.
Salim Khan’s contribution to Indian cinema remains extraordinary. He began his career as an actor in the 1960s. He appeared in films like Teesri Manzil, starring alongside Shammi Kapoor. Later, he found his true calling as a screenwriter. As part of the iconic Salim-Javed duo with Javed Akhtar, he helped reshape Hindi cinema in the 1970s. Together, they created unforgettable classics such as Sholay, Deewaar and Zanjeer.
