Shehzada Movie Review: Kartik Aaryan rocks in this family entertainer by Rohit Dhawan

Shehzada Movie Review: Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Shehzada that hit the screens on February 17, had already created quite a buzz ahead of its release.  The Rohit Dhawan directorial is full of action, drama, and romance in a typical Kartik Aaryan film.

A Hindi remake of Allu Arjun’s Telugu 2020 superhit action drama ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’, Shehzada is Aaryan’s most anticipated film. As the actor turned a producer with this film, he has tried to play his cards correct. The film is loaded with strong action, funny one-liners and a touch of comedy in the dialogues but the story fails to hold, especially in the first half.

A family entertainer

As the trailer hints, Shehzada is a family entertainer. This Rohit Dhawan comedy drama is a typical ‘Dhawan’ film. Kartik Aryan and Kriti Sanon are back as the lead couple and their off screen chemistry comes out well on the screen. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Ronit Roy, Sunny Ahuja, Ankur Rathi and Sachin Khedekar. Rajpal Yadav and Rakesh Bedi also make special appearances.

It’s an out and out Kartik Aryan show who rocks from the first to the last scene. Kriti Sanon has done justice to her role as a lawyer but she did not have much to do. However, Paresh Rawal has excelled as expected in his role. His effortless acting and comic timing are worth watching again and again. Ronit Roy and Manisha Koirala did their job well. Sachin Khedekar is endearing as the patriarch of the Jindal family while Sunny Hinduja has his moments as a batman. Rajpal Yadav in special appearance and Rakesh Bedi come across as funny.

Relevant changes made for Hindi viewers

Shehzada is a fmily entertainer and viewers will love that. With Hindi audience in mind, Rohit Dhawan has made relevant changes to the superhit Telugu film. However, the film is all about Kartik Aaryan and the leading lady Kriti Sanon’s track abruptly ends in the second half which is disappointing.

Also, since Shehzada is the Hindi remake of the Telugu film ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’, many people have already seen it. So, there is a high chance that Shehzada’s box office collection will be affected by this factor. Hindi dubbed version of Allu Arjun’s Telugu film is even available on YouTube.
