Sidhu Moosewala death anniversary: It’s been one year since the sad passing away of Punjabi singer-rapper Sidhu Moosewala. The void that Moosewala left in the Punjabi music industry still trembles many and his fans always remember him with moist eyes. In a short period of time, Sidhu Moosewala garnered unprecedented popularity, rising above all to create a cult following. On the day of his death anniversary, his fans paid rich tribute as they remember his legacy. 

The Rise of a Superstar 

Sidhu Moosewala began his career in 2-17 and rose to quick fame, courtesy of his unique choice of songs that resonated with youth. In no time, Moosewala was leading International charts with his songs going viral even among the Indians in the diaspora. 

Sidhu Moosewala released his first song ‘G Wagon’ in 2017. In the same year, he released the song ‘So High’ which won the 1027 Best Lyricist award at the Brit Asia TV Music Awards.

Concerts and shows 

After fans’ heavy demands, Sidhuwala began holding concerns in India and Canada. He released songs ‘Issa Jatt’, ‘It’s All About You’, and ‘Just Listen’ in 2018. With his song ‘Tochan’, the singer forayed into the top 40 UK Asian Charts in 2018 with his long ‘Tochan’. 

Launching own record label 

In 2019, Moosewala launched the song ‘Legend’ under his own record label which went on the win the Britasia TV Kuflink Best Track of the Year Award. The same year, e also released ‘Chosen’, ‘Outlaw’, and ‘East Side Row’ which made it to everyone’s playlist. His song ‘Mafia Style’ was also met with criticism for his bold take. 

His song ’47’ in collaboration with Mist and Stefflon Don met with widespread praise and entered the top 20 on UK Singles Chart and the New Zealand Hot 40 singles chart. 

Billboard success

Sidhu Mooswala’s song ‘Game’ with Shooter Kahlon entered the Canadian Hot 100 by Billboard. He. Is among the very few artists who have made it to the list. Meanwhile, his song 295 secured 154th rank on the Billboard Global 200 in July 2022, two months after his death.  Proving his irreplaceable position in the music industry, his posthumous song ‘Mera Na’ featured on Billboard Hot 12.
