Singer Chinmayi Sripada lashes out at Kamal Hassan for not speaking up on Me Too allegations: ‘How does one trust politicians’

Singer Chinmayi Sripada, who accused lyricist Vairamuthu of sexual harassment, has now slammed the famous actor Kamal Hassan. Recently, Kamal Hassan supported the wrestlers’ protest and spoke openly for them, on which Chinmayi has criticized the actor for not giving any statement on her Me Too allegations. She took to twitter and tweeted, “How does one trust politicians who speak for women’s safety while they ignore harassment right under their noses?”

Chinmayi Sripada responds to Kamal Hassan’s latest tweet

Kamal Haasan tweeted in support of the wrestlers’ protest, on which the singer replied, “5 years of a singer in Tamilnadu being banned for naming a molester right in front of their eyes and not a pip about it since the poettu has their respect. How does one trust politicians who speak for women’s safety while they ignore harassment right under their noses? Just. Asking. Now while my timeline will blow up with abuse, shouting and yelling imma gonna exit. Buhbye!.”

 Chinmayi Sripada faces backlash from Kamal Hassan’s fans

As soon as Chinmayi tweeted, she faced strong reactions from Kamal Haasan’s fans. She responded to some of the tweets and wrote, “Needless to say there is soooo much anger. So many Kamal Haasan supporters ask me the same *rape apologist – survivor shaming* questions that those opposing our Indian wrestlers have said. The playbook to shame women who name powerful molesters is the exact same. DMK – BJP – now MNM – all the same. Only the language is different.”

Apart from this, Chinmayi revealed that she has been banned from the industry because she disclosed the name of the lyricist Vairamuthu as a molester during the Me Too movement.
