Son Of Sardaar 2 Vs Dhadak 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar’s Film Fall Flat As Saiyaara Still Holds Ground

Despite high expectations, Son of Sardaar 2 is struggling at the box office, while Dhadak 2 is facing an even steeper fall. Both films are expected to end their first week with underwhelming collections.

Two major sequels, Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2, are having a tough time at the box office as both films continue to underperform. Despite the buzz around their star cast and legacy, neither movie has managed to draw strong footfall after the initial weekend. Meanwhile, Saiyaara remains a strong contender, showing surprising consistency and outperforming both new releases in its third week.

Son Of Sardaar 2 Box Office Collection Day 5

Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 had a decent opening with Rs 7.25 crore on Day 1. The film saw some growth over the weekend with Rs 8.25 crore on Day 2 and Rs 9.25 crore on Day 3. However, the numbers took a sharp dip on Day 4, falling to Rs 2.35 crore. On Day 5, it managed a slight rebound, collecting Rs 2.50 crore, bringing its five-day total to Rs 29.60 crore.

Despite a promising start, the film has not lived up to expectations. Mixed to negative reviews and lack of strong word-of-mouth have affected its performance. Compared to Ajay’s earlier release Raid 2, which had a stronger debut and crossed Rs 100 crore quickly, Son of Sardaar 2 is unlikely to even cross Rs 40 crore in its first week.

Dhadak 2 Box Office Collection Day 5

Karan Johar’s Dhadak 2 also failed to impress. The film earned Rs 3.5 crore on Day 1, followed by Rs 3.75 crore on Day 2 and Rs 4.15 crore on Day 3, ending its first weekend with Rs 11.4 crore. However, the momentum didn’t last long. Day 4 collections dropped to Rs 1.35 crore and Day 5 brought in just Rs 1.60 crore. The total stands at approximately Rs 14.35 crore.

Being a sequel to the 2018 hit Dhadak, expectations were high. But the film’s weak hold and strong competition have severely impacted its chances at the box office. It now faces an uphill battle to even reach the Rs 25 crore mark.

Saiyaara Box Office Collection Day 19

In stark contrast, Saiyaara continues to draw in the crowds. On Day 19, the film collected Rs 2.5 crore, almost equal to Son of Sardaar 2’s Day 5 total. This consistency shows how well the film has connected with the audience.

According to trade sources, Saiyaara has so far made Rs 302.10 crore net and Rs 362.50 crore gross in India. With Rs 130 crore from overseas markets, its worldwide total now stands at Rs 492.50 crore. It has already surpassed the lifetime earnings of Padmaavat and is set to overtake Bajrangi Bhaijaan soon.

About Son Of Sardaar 2, Dhadak 2 And Saiyaara

Son of Sardaar 2 features Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, and the late Mukul Dev. The sequel picks up years after the events of the original, with the story now set in Scotland. Despite the expanded plot, the film hasn’t resonated with fans like the 2012 original.

Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, is a social romantic drama set against the backdrop of caste-based discrimination. It tells the story of two law students whose love is tested by societal barriers. Backed by Dharma Productions, the film failed to recreate the magic of its predecessor.

Saiyaara tells the emotional journey of Krish (Ahaan), a short-tempered musician, and Vaani (Aneet), a quiet poet.
