Businessman and socialite Sunjay Kapur died suddenly on June 12 at the age of 53. The incident took place during a polo match in England, where he reportedly suffered a heart attack shortly after accidentally swallowing a bee.
Eyewitnesses said his last words were, “I’ve swallowed something.” His friend and associate Suhel Seth later confirmed to ANI, “Sunjay died of a heart attack, apparently after swallowing a bee during a polo match in England.” His unexpected death has stunned both social circles and the business community.
Sunjay had moved on from his high-profile marriage to actress Karisma Kapoor and was living a quieter life with his second wife, Priya Sachdev. The couple married in 2017 and shared a son named Azarias. Priya, a model and socialite, often posted loving messages for Sunjay online.
Following his death, one of Priya’s old anniversary posts has gone viral. It reads:
“Happy Anniversary, my handsome husband. Love you unconditionally… I always knew you could run, but together we fly! With you, life has been filled with laughter, happiness, excitement, adventure, and madness! You complete me, my better half… thank you for always being there for me and, most importantly, for us!”
The post is now being widely shared, with fans calling it “deeply emotional” given the tragic timing.

Sunjay Kapur first came into the spotlight in 2003 when he married actress Karisma Kapoor. The wedding was widely covered in the media. The couple had two children, Samaira and Kiaan. But after a rocky period, they filed for divorce in 2014, which was finalised in 2016.
Not long after, Sunjay began a new chapter with Priya Sachdev. Their life together was less public, but full of family moments that she often shared on social media. Priya maintained a warm relationship with his children from his first marriage, frequently posting pictures of them spending time with their younger half-brother, Azarias.
