Karisma Kapoor was spotted at Mumbai’s private airport on Thursday morning with her children, Samaira and Kiaan, as they left for Delhi to attend the funeral of her ex-husband, businessman Sunjay Kapur. He died of a heart attack during a polo match in England on June 13. He was 53.

Dressed in traditional white, Karisma and her kids kept a low profile at the airport. A video of the family entering the terminal quickly went viral, showing the actress and her children walking silently past the waiting paparazzi.

Karisma Kapoor Leaves To Attend Final Rites Of Sunjay Kapur

Sunjay Kapur’s funeral is scheduled to take place on Thursday at 5 PM at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in New Delhi. His body was flown in from London earlier this week. Reports say he suffered a fatal allergic reaction after accidentally swallowing a bee during a polo match, which triggered a heart attack.

Although Karisma and Sunjay divorced in 2016 after a highly public separation, they remained connected through their children. Her presence at the funeral, alongside Samaira and Kiaan, reflects her commitment to their emotional well-being despite the difficult history.

Both children were seen accompanying Karisma, dressed in white as a mark of respect. They did not stop for photos and quietly entered the terminal, avoiding media attention.

Will Kareena Kapoor Join Her Sister?

Karisma's sister Kareena Kapoor Khan was not seen at the airport, but there’s a possibility she might fly to Delhi separately to support her family. However, nothing has been confirmed. Kareena is known to share a strong bond with Karisma and her niece and nephew, making her presence at the prayer meet likely, though not officially confirmed.

Sunjay Kapur Prayer Meet Details And Family Statement

A prayer meeting for Sunjay Kapur will be held on Sunday, June 22, at Taj Palace, New Delhi, from 4 to 5 PM. A family note confirming the details was signed by Sunjay’s mother Rani Surinder Kapur, wife Priya Kapur, and their children Safira and Azarius. Karisma’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, also signed the note, indicating their involvement in the arrangements.

Sunjay was married to Karisma from 2003 to 2016 before marrying Priya Sachdev. He had a daughter, Safira, from Priya’s earlier marriage and a son, Azarius, with Priya in 2018.
