Tejasswi Prakash On Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin Franchise
Tejasswi Prakash played the main role in Naagin 6. It became the longest-running season with 188 episodes. The show aired from February 2022 to July 2023. She played Pratha Gujral, a serpent queen who tried to save the country from a major threat. The story later jumped 20 years ahead. Tejasswi then played Pratha’s daughter too. These twists helped the show stay in the news.
In her interview on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast, Tejasswi said she felt heavy pressure when she joined the show. She said that earlier seasons did not get a strong response. She also said the makers were unsure about bringing the show back. Teja revealed, “Sabse pehle to mujhe bahut pressure tha, kyunki mere season se pehle wale seasons ko itna accha response nahi aaya tha. To Balaji ne decide kiya ki hum Naagin nahi karenge. And then Bigg Boss ke time pe maine Ekta ma’am se poocha tha ki – aapne aaj tak mujhe kisi cheez ke liye sign kyun nahi kiya?”
She said Ekta Kapoor promised to sign her for a project. Soon after, Naagin 6 happened. Tejasswi added, “Aur phir woh itna itna accha chal gaya. Mera season ekdum tukke wala tha, kyunki show to discontinue hi ho gaya tha. Par uske baad Naagin literally zinda hui.”
She also praised the first season with Mouni Roy. She said it will always be iconic. The actress then said that many people now compare the franchise with her season. “Pehla season jo obviously Mouni ka tha, woh to another level hi tha. Par uske baad agar koi compare karta hai, to shayad Naagin 6 se hi karta.”
