The Conjuring Last Rites is leading the box office in India. The Hollywood horror film stayed strong on Saturday and left behind Bollywood releases like Baaghi 4 and The Bengal Files. With two steady days, it is now the biggest film of the weekend.

The Conjuring Last Rites Box Office Performance

According to Sacnilk, the film made Rs 17.50 crore net on Day 2, the same as its Friday opening. On Day 1, it also collected Rs 17.50 crore, with Rs 10 crore from English shows, Rs 6.35 crore from Hindi versions, and Rs 1.15 crore from Tamil and Telugu dubs.

The two-day total in India now stands at Rs 35 crore net. Out of this, Rs 20.25 crore came from English screenings and Rs 12.35 crore from Hindi. With these numbers, the film has already entered the list of top Hollywood horror earners in India.

Crossing Rs 35 crore in just two days, The Conjuring Last Rites is now the seventh highest-grossing Hollywood horror release in the country. It is just behind Evil Dead Rise, which made Rs 36.50 crore. Experts say such fast growth for a foreign horror movie in India is rare.

The film is also strong overseas. Early reports suggest international earnings of around Rs 125 crore, taking its worldwide total close to Rs 250 crore within two days.

Bollywood Films Baaghi 4 And The Bengal Files Disappoint

While The Conjuring Last Rites is doing big business, Bollywood releases have taken an underwhelming start. Tiger Shroff and Sanjay Dutt’s Baaghi 4 opened at Rs 12 crore but fell to Rs 9 crore on Saturday. Its two-day total is just over Rs 20 crore.

Vivek Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files had an even weaker start, making only Rs 3.5 crore so far. In comparison, The Conjuring Last Rites has already crossed Rs 35 crore in two days. The film is now heading towards Rs 50 crore by the end of Sunday. If it continues this run, it may challenge the lifetime collections of The Conjuring 2 (Rs 61.80 crore) and Final Destination: Bloodlines (Rs 62.12 crore).
