The Kerala High Court declined to halt the film's distribution earlier in the day
The CPI(M) and the Congress in Kerala contend that the film "The Kerala Story," starring Adah Sharma and produced and directed by Sudipto Sen, depicts inaccurately the conversion and radicalization of 32,000 women who were then used in terror operations throughout India and the world. The Kerala High Court declined to halt the film's distribution earlier in the day, noting that the trailer contains nothing specifically insulting to any one community as a whole. The court further noted that the filmmakers had included a statement in the movie's press materials explicitly stating that the story is fictional and that no claim to historical truth is being made. It should be remembered that with only a few days to the Karnataka elections, PM Modi has been conducting extensive election activities. The next two days, May 6 and 7, the prime minister will hold lengthy roadshows and rallies throughout the region.
