Telugu superstar and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, finally saw his highly awaited film They Call Him OG release in theatres today. Fans turned up in large numbers for the first-day, first-show screenings. However, the excitement turned chaotic when a video showed some over-enthusiastic fans cutting the cinema screen with a sword during the film.

The incident happened at a theatre in Bengaluru during an early morning show. Reports say some fans went up to the screen mid-show and cut it with a sword in celebration. Theatre staff had to stop the screening to control the situation, leaving other viewers frustrated. After discussions with the fans and authorities, the show resumed. However, the incident quickly went viral online.

About They Call Him OG
They Call Him OG is directed by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari under DVV Entertainment. The film stars Pawan Kalyan and Emraan Hashmi, marking the Bollywood actor’s Telugu debut. Other key cast members include Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, and Prakash Raj. The movie is one of three films Pawan signed before taking on his political role as Deputy Chief Minister. His previous release (Hari Hara Veera Mallu), directed by Krish and Jyothi Krishna, came out in July. It earned a lukewarm response at the box office, collecting Rs 116 crore worldwide.
Expectations for They Call Him OG are high after the last failure, fan excitement and promotional campaigns. According to Sacnilk, the film is expected to open with around Rs 100 crore at the box office. Pawan Kalyan is also working on Ustaad Bhagat Singh (directed by Harish Shankar), a remake of the Tamil film Theri. Its release date is yet to be announced.
