Yash starrer Toxic has been postponed once again, shocking fans who were waiting for its June 4 release. The actor confirmed the delay through a long Instagram note, but did not announce a fresh release date. Soon after the update, social media was flooded with angry reactions and trolling.
The delay has come as a major setback for one of the most talked-about pan-India films of the year. While Yash said the film is complete, many users questioned the repeated postponements and claimed the makers were struggling with buzz, VFX and release plans.
Yash Announces Toxic Podstponement
Sharing a detailed statement, Yash wrote, “There are films we make, and then there are films that remind us why we fell in love with cinema. Toxic has been one such journey. Presenting our film at CinemaCon and witnessing the overwhelming global response reaffirmed what we have always believed-that this film deserves to reach its fullest potential worldwide.”
He further added, “Toxic is complete, and we are currently aligning global distribution and partnerships. In light of this, we have decided to recalibrate our release timeline. While we will not be releasing on June 4 as announced earlier, we will be releasing at a later, globally aligned date. Toxic will come to theatres across the world soon.”
The actor also said, “At a time when Indian cinema is finding its voice and stepping onto the global stage with such promise, each of us has a responsibility to raise the bar. As an actor – producer, I see this moment as an opportunity to do my part for the Indian film industry and for all of us by taking the time to ensure our film reaches the world with the impact it is meant to have.”
He thanked fans for standing by him and wrote, “Through every step and every change, your support has stayed with me, and I carry it with deep gratitude.”

Netizens Troll Yash After Delay
Many users were not impressed by the explanation and brutally trolled Yash and the makers online. Reacting to the delay, one user wrote, “Dhurandhar cooked everyone. Nobody is gonna watch over-the-top flying action scenes anymore.”
Another commented, “Instead, it’s other way round. I am sure they are reworking on VFX and jarring BMG.”
A third user said, “One man’s ego has wrecked this movie #toxic producers life. No buzz, you can’t create artificial hype every time. #yash has always been mediocre and less talented. Not every movie will turn out to be a lottery like KGF..”
One more shared, “Truth is there is no buyer in the English market. And they are still searching. Even good ott deal is not received. That’s why they are pushing the release further.”
A user quipped, “Screen pe hero. Reality me fattu.”
Another netizen wrote, “This is not looking good for Toxic and Yash.”
Second Release Delay For Toxic
This is the second time Toxic has been delayed. The film was first planned for a March 19 release this year. Later, it was shifted to June 4. Now, the makers have postponed it again without revealing a new date.
The repeated delays have increased uncertainty around the project, especially after the film created strong hype with its early promos.
About Yash Starrer Toxic
Directed by Geethu Mohandas, Toxic was recently showcased at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas with a nine-minute preview.
During an interaction with Fandango, Yash said, “Toxic is a very ambitious film. For the first time, we have also shot it in English. At face value, it may seem like a typical gangster drama packed with action, but it’s far more layered. It explores deep psychological themes and aspects of human behaviour that audiences can relate to. It’s a unique way of presenting a dark character.”
The film stars Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth and Akshay Oberoi.
Earlier this year, the film also landed in controversy after its teaser faced criticism for bold visuals. Complaints were reportedly filed over alleged obscenity and concerns about certain scenes.
