Kartik Aaryan’s latest romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (TMMTMTTM) has struggled to make a strong mark at the box office. Released on Christmas, the film was expected to be the big holiday hit. However, the numbers suggest it has failed to connect with audiences. It has been earning even less than Kartik’s past few flops at the box office. Read on for a detailed report!
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Box Office Collection Day 2
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 5 crore on its second day, marking a 35.5% drop from its opening day collection of Rs 7.75 crore. The total domestic net collection now stands at Rs 12.75 crore. While a decline on the second day after a holiday is common, the steep drop combined with a weak festive opening has put the film in a precarious position.
Occupancy figures for Day 2 show a concerning trend. Overall theatre occupancy stood at just 19.92%. Morning shows opened at a low 7.28%, improved slightly to 18.49% during the afternoon, and evening shows managed 23.15%. Night shows recorded 30.76%, reflecting only marginal improvement.
In major markets, Delhi-NCR hosted 564 shows but recorded just 21.75% occupancy. Mumbai followed with 428 shows and slightly better performance at 25.25%. These numbers highlight the challenge the film faces in attracting audiences despite a festive release.

Why Weekend Is Crucial For Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri
When compared to Kartik Aaryan’s previous films, TMMTMTTM’s performance is underwhelming. Satyaprem Ki Katha collected Rs 14.35 crore in its first two days, while pre-pandemic releases like Love Aaj Kal and Pati Patni Aur Woh earned Rs 20.41 crore and Rs 21.43 crore respectively. Even Luka Chuppi managed Rs 18.8 crore.
Adding to the challenge, TMMTMTTM faces stiff competition. Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster Dhurandhar continues to dominate in its fourth week with Rs 15 crore on Friday alone. James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash earned Rs 7.5 crore on its second Friday, almost matching TMMTMTTM’s opening day. Other romantic comedies released this year, such as Bhool Chuk Maaf, Param Sundari and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, have also performed better in comparable periods.
With the upcoming release of Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra starrer Ikkis, TMMTMTTM faces further pressure. Industry experts say the weekend is the last chance for the film to stabilise its collections and cash in on holiday audiences.
