Uorfi Javed Recalls Terrifying Late Night Encounter
Speaking to ETimes, Uorfi explained what led to the emergency visit to the police station. The incident reportedly happened around 3.30 am when two men showed up outside her home. According to her, one of them kept ringing the doorbell for nearly 10 minutes.
She said, “Someone kept ringing my doorbell for about 10 minutes. When I went out to check, a man was standing outside asking me to open the door and insisting on being let in, while another was standing at the corner. I told him to stop the nonsense and leave, but he refused to go. It was only when I warned him that I would call the police that he finally left.”
At the time, Uorfi was at home with her sisters Dolly and Asfi Javed. She claimed the men lived in the same building, on the 13th floor, and behaved in a threatening manner. She added, “These men claimed they were politically connected and behaved as if they could do anything.”
Trouble Continued Even After Cops Arrived
According to Uorfi, the situation did not calm down even after the police reached the spot. She alleged that the men continued to misbehave, not just with her and her sisters but also with the police officials.
She said, “We called the police, but they misbehaved with us and with the police. They were rude and kept saying ‘nikal nikal’. They denied everything.”
Uorfi also made a serious allegation about tampering with evidence. She claimed that while she and her sisters were on their way to the police station, they overheard the men asking the building’s security guard to delete CCTV footage. She alleged they again mentioned their political links during this exchange. An NC has now been registered in the case.
Uorfi And Her Sisters Don’t Feel Safe In Mumbai
The emotional impact of the incident has shaken the family. Speaking about the fear they felt, Uorfi said, “When someone comes at 3 am and asks a girl to open the door and then refuses to leave, it is scary. Especially when girls are living alone, situations like this can be terrifying.”
She also confirmed that she has filed a written complaint with her housing society. Uorfi said, “I have submitted a written complaint because I do not feel safe. I want to know what action will be taken against them.”
