Upcoming movies in December 2022: 7 films that ride Bollywood’s expectations this month

Upcoming movies in December 2022: The month of December is filled with genre-bending movies. From An Action Hero to Govinda Mera Naam, Bollywood is bringing the action and masala back. The busy calendar also has Ranveer Singh coming with his Cirkus. While Taapsee will be back with Blurr, Kartik Aaryan is expected to sweep fans off by their feet with his Freddy. Today, we have mentioned a list of films that are releasing this December.

An Action Hero

In his newest performance, Ayushmann Khurrana plans to play outside of his comfort zone. No points for guessing who will watch him play: an action hero. The actor will play Manav, a movie star who is charged with murdering a man. Jaideep’s Bhoora follows closely as he flees to London to avoid capture. The two will engage in an exciting cat-and-mouse chase throughout the movie.

The actioner flick will release in theaters on 2nd December 2022.

Freddy

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kartik Aaryan’s most recent movie, was a comedy-horror. He will depart from his customary silliness and comedy roles in his upcoming movie, Freddy. The actor portrays Freddy Ginwala, a socially awkward dentist with a secret sinister side, in the suspenseful film. The movie’s trailer showed him pulling teeth and a dead body, hinting at the story’s twisty edge-of-your-seat tension. Take what you will from that. Freddy will skip theatrical release and will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on December 2.

India Lockdown

India Lockdown by Madhur Bhandar sheds attention on all the individuals whose lives were impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak in India during its earliest stages. The movie will tell the tale of the lockdown that occurred in India in 2020 as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic. It features leading performances from Prateik Babbar, Sai Tamhankar, Shweta Basu Prasad, Aahana Kumra, and Prakash Belawadi. The film will stream on Zee5 from December 2nd.

Cirkus

In the classic comedy Cirkus, Ranveer Singh plays double roles. The 1982 Hindi film Angoor, which itself is a remake of Do Dooni Chaar, served as the inspiration for the historical comedy (1968). The ensemble cast, directed by Rohit Shetty, also features Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hedge, and Varun Sharma. Cirkus is slated for release in theatres on December 23.

Blurr

After Dobaara, Taapsee Pannu appears to be back with another dark thriller. She will play two roles in the upcoming movie, which will be her first as an executive producer. In Blurr, Taapsee Pannu plays a young woman named Gayatri who is on a quest to learn the truth about her twin sister’s suicide-mystery-death. The irony is that Gayatri is also gradually losing her vision while her sister Gautami had already lost her sight. Before she loses her vision, she must discover the truth. The film will release on December 9 on Zee5.

Pippa

The film is based on the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. The Burning Chaffees, a book by Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta that recounts actual events, used as the inspiration for the movie. Ishaan Khatter, who starred in the movie Phone Bhoot, will portray Captain Mehta, a soldier who fought with his siblings on the front lines. Additionally, Mrunal Thakur will play his sister in the movie, and Soni Razdan will play his mother. Pippa will release in theatres on December 9.

Salaam Venky

The main focus of Salaam Venky is a true account of a lady and the difficulties she encounters in life. Revathi and Kajol worked together on this project to portray the tale of a deserving mother who overcame the most trying situations. The film will release in theatres on December 9.
