Pinkvilla reported earlier that Karan Johar has signed Vasan Bala to direct an action-thriller for Dharma Productions. Reports suggested that Karan Johar and Vasan Bala finalized Alia Bhatt for the lead role in the action-packed movie. And today, we got to know that Vedang Raina will appear in this action movie with Alia Bhatt.
A person familiar with the situation said, “With Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda in the Zoya Akhtar-directed The Archies, Vedang will make his acting debut in the online realm. His first venture into the theatre industry will be the Vasan Bala movie. Karan and Vasan were impressed with his performance in the rushes of The Archies and think he fits the bill.”
The shoot will begin in September
The movie is currently preparing and will begin shooting in September. “Alia Bhatt and Vedang will meet up many times in August to read scripts and get to know one another. In fact, there will be action workshops as well because Vasan Bala’s movie’s theme is heavily action-oriented. A prison break serves as the central theme of the story,” the source continued. The movie would hit theaters in the second half of 2024, adding to the large list of movies Karan Johar has planned for the following year.
Karan Johar’s future plans
For those who don’t know, Karan will be releasing seven movies over the course of the next year: Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam, Yodha, KC Shankaran Biopic, Mr. and Mrs. Mahi, Ae Watan Mere Watan, and Sarzameen. The film directed by Vasan Bala will be his eighth to be released in the upcoming 12 months.
