Vijay Sethupathi: Actor Vijay Sethupathi stunned his fans when he dropped a new pic of himself in new look on social media. In the picture he is looking noticeably slimmer than usual. This has resulted in a debate among fans about his drastic weight loss.
Vijay, who has suffered trolls in the past for his body and weight, surprised everyone with what appears to be drastic weight loss in a short period of time. In his new picture on social media it looks like he’s shed quite a few kilos. The picture has gone viral and has garnered positive reactions from fans, most of who are appreciating the transformation.

Looks much slimmer in mirror selfie
Vijay shared a smiling selfie on his Instagram page. He is dressed in white, clicking the mirror selfie, appearing noticeably slimmer than before. The actor was recently seen in Tamil film DSP, which released a couple of weeks ago. Even during the promotions, Vijay looked his usual plump self. This new selfie, in which he looks noticeably thinner, comes less than a month after that.
Fans reacted to the picture with comments like ‘inspiration’ and ‘unbelievable’. Many said he had answered ‘haters’, who trolled him for his weight over the years. There were some sceptics too who were not convinced and said the picture was all about camera angles. It was impossible to lose so much weight so soon, they said.
This year Vijay had four releases –Vikram, Maamanithan, 19 (1) (a) and DSP. Vikram was one of the biggest hits of the year and the actor was praised for his performance there. Last year, he won the National award for his performance as a transgender person in Super Deluxe.
Web outing with Shahid Kapoor
His upcoming projects include a web series Farzi with Shahid Kapoor. He two films lied up too – Mumbaikar and Merry Christmas. Abot working in Bollywood, he had said, “It is going really well. I feel like a kid going to a new school, as the journey is filled with new learnings and explorations. Every day on set is a learning as well as surprising experience. Mera dimag aur dil, dono hi bahut khush hai about my Hindi debut. (My heart and brain, both are happy with my Hindi debut).”
