Wednesday on Netflix: New horror drama races ahead of Stranger Things 4, sets THIS record

Wednesday on Netflix: Netflix has a new creepy girl and it's not Eleven from Stranger Things. The supernatural fantasy drama that arrived on the top streaming giant on November 23 is currently on a record breaking spree. The series starring Jenna Ortago is the new record holder for the most hours viewed in a week for an English-language TV series on Netflix with 341.2 million hour views. Previously, critically acclaimed drama Stranger Things Season 4 held the record with 335.01 million hours views in one week.

Wednesday on Netflix beats Stranger Things

More than 50 million households have watched “Wednesday” since it premiered just under a week ago. Meanwhile, in its first full week of availability, "1899" continues to rank second among English-language TV series with 87.89 million hours viewed, a small increase from the previous week's 79.27 million. The historical thriller's Nov. 17 debut included Emily Beecham, Aneurin Barnard, and Andreas Pietschmann in the lead roles. Following the passengers on an immigrant ship as they encounter a "mind-bending riddle" following a series of unexplained events that cause the ship to change course.

Wednesday Addams, the titular character in Netflix's most recent horror comedy, is a member of the notorious Addams family. It debuted last week and by the weekend in India was trending on the platform's Top 10 list. Jenna Ortega plays the titular role in this series, which was co-written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Fred Armisen, and Christina Ricci play supporting roles. Tim Burton, who also acts as executive producer, directed four of the eight episodes. The main girl, who goes by the title, tries to solve a monstrous mystery at her school.

Khakee, Wednesday and 1899 are currently the top three dramas on Netflix in India right now. Mismatched, Blood, Sex and Royalty, on the other hand, are currently trending at 4th and 5th. Manifest, The Crown, Business Proposal, Elite, and F.R.I.E.N.D.S are other dramas in Top 10.
