Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 is gearing up to turn Bollywood’s comedy scene on its head. The Sajid Nadiadwala-produced film is hitting theatres on June 6, but with a wild twist. It will release in two separate versions, each with a different killer and alternate climax.
Housefull 5 Makers To Release Two Versions Of Film
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, both versions (titled Housefull 5 and Housefull 5A) will feature different murderers in the plot. If one version ends with Person X revealed as the killer, the other will point fingers at Person Y. The goal is to make fans return for a second viewing, turning the movie into a double-dose mystery comedy.
This strategy has already become a hot topic in the industry. Something similar has been done with recent releases like Sohum Shah’s Crazxy, where the climax was changed after release. However, releasing two separate versions (and both being available in theatres) is somewhat unique.
The final 20 minutes in both versions will offer completely fresh jokes, chaos, and an unexpected twist. BookMyShow listings will clearly mention which version is being screened to avoid confusion.
Insiders say Sajid Nadiadwala has been planning this dual-ending format for a while. It was kept tightly under wraps to maintain suspense. The plan is to spark word-of-mouth buzz and encourage conversations among fans about which ending they saw. If this pays off, it could inspire more filmmakers to try bold storytelling formats.
Trailer Of Akshay Kumar Starrer Drops Today
Meanwhile, all eyes are on the trailer launch, which is expected to drop today at a grand event. The makers have gathered the full cast of 19 actors for the launch. The trailer has been certified UA16+ by the CBFC and runs nearly 4 minutes long. It promises an overload of comedy and chaos.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 brings back fan-favourite duo Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh. The cast also includes Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Dino Morea, and Soundarya Sharma.
This fifth instalment in the Housefull franchise is playing it safe by offering something different. The two surprise endings, high-stakes comedy, and a star-packed cast make Housefull 5 one of the boldest releases of 2025.
