Salman Khan is reportedly set to host two of Indian TV’s biggest shows, Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17 (KBC 17) and Bigg Boss 19. This news is sure to spark debate as fans previously raised concerns about his overexposure on television, especially after his recent film Sikandar failed at the box office.
Amitabh Bachchan has been the face of KBC since it started in 2000. He hosted 15 seasons, except for season 3 when Shah Rukh Khan took over briefly. Bollywood Hungama reported that Salman is in advanced talks to replace Amitabh as host from season 17 onwards.
Salman Khan To Host Both KBC 17 And Bigg Boss 19?
According to insiders, Salman Khan is seen as the perfect choice to replace Amitabh Bachchan on KBC because of his strong popularity, especially with viewers in smaller towns. They also revealed that Amitabh may step down from the show due to personal reasons, paving the way for Salman to take over.
Meanwhile, Salman is confirmed to host Bigg Boss 19, which will likely air from July. The show is produced by Endemol Shine India. Salman is expected to shoot the first promo by the end of June. Although the makers have not officially announced it yet, his long-standing association with Bigg Boss makes his return almost certain.
If Salman hosts both shows, he will dominate TV this year with back-to-back appearances. Fans will see a lot of him on their screens.
Fans Were Concerned About Over Exposure
After Sikandar flopped, many took to social media to say Salman’s constant TV presence might be hurting his film career. They feel he is overexposed and needs a break from reality shows to boost his movie success. Salman reportedly met fans and took their honest feedback following the film’s poor performance.
With two major shows lined up, it remains to be seen if Salman will reduce his TV appearances anytime soon. It will be interesting to watch how he manages both shows amid the complaints of overexposure.
