Zubeen Garg Death: Why Doctors Couldn’t Save Him?

He also shared that generations found joy and identity in Zubeen’s music and that his passing has left a void that can never be filled. He offered condolences to the singer’s family, friends, and fans.

Zubeen Garg (born in 1972 in Meghalaya as Zubeen Borthakur) was one of the most celebrated voices of Assam. In the 90s, he chose “Garg” as his stage name, drawing it from his gotra. His career took a major turn in 2006 with the song Ya Ali from Gangster, which became a nationwide hit. After that, he delivered many popular tracks like Subah Subah and Kya Raaz Hai.

Zubeen was best known for his work in Assamese, Bengali, and Hindi music. He sang in more than 40 languages and dialects. For years, he was regarded as Assam’s highest-paid and most successful singer, making him a true icon of Indian music.
