Covid-19 update: India records 73,272 fresh cases

India continued steady delcine in covid-19 single-day spike as it recorded 73,272 fresh cases of covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The death toll rose to 1,07, 426 with 926 fatalities, the latest data by the Union health ministry stated.

11,64,018 samples tested for Covid-19 yesterday. Total 8,57,98,698 samples tested in the country up to 9th October: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)

Meanwhile, Maharashtra remained the worst-affected state by the Covid-19, followed by Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

Maharashtra has recorded more than 15 lakh cases so far as it continued to add 10,000 cases per day. Karnataka’s total tally stands at 6,90,269 and 9,789 fatalities. While in Andhra Pradesh the number of total infections has crossed 7 lakh mark.

Here’re some more updates related to covid-19:

*Australia recorded no coronavirus deaths for a third straight day on Saturday. However, Melbourne continues to report new infections actively.

*New Mexico, which managed to contain the spread initially, is now witnessing more than 488 cases of infection in a single day.

*US president Donald Trump said that he was covid-19 “medication free ” and revealed details related to his treatment in an interview on Friday.

“Right now I’m medication-free, I’m not taking any medications as of, you know, probably eight hours ago,” Trump said in televised interview.

*China reported 15 new infection of novel coronavirus in last 24-hour, the country’s national health authority informed.

*Veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee, who tested positive for coronavirus, has been shifted to intensive care in private hospital after his health condition worsened, a Senior doctor said.

Meanwhile, the overall number of global coronavirus caseshas reached near 36.8 million mark, while the deaths have mounted to 1,066,800, according to the Johns Hopkins University.

As of Saturday morning, the total number of cases stood at 36,791,842 and the fatalities increased to 1,066,861, the University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) said in its latest update.
