She shared, “Cracked and dry lips, the corners of the mouth tearing, painful ulcers, the tongue becoming red, and pain in the mouth – these are symptoms. These red and painful features happen due to Vitamin B2 deficiency. Vitamin B helps our body convert food into energy. When there is a deficiency of Vitamin B2, these problems occur as I mentioned.”
These symptoms may feel small, but ignoring them can make things worse over time. Your body needs Vitamin B2 for cell growth, skin health and healthy energy levels. Without it, the tissues in your mouth and skin struggle to repair themselves.
How Much Vitamin B2 Do You Need?
Dr Sehrawat also explained that the daily requirement of Vitamin B2 is very low — around 1.3 mg. Most healthy adults can meet this through a balanced diet.
However, some people need a little more. This includes:

3. People who have undergone intestinal surgery
In these cases, your body may not absorb nutrients as effectively, and deficiency risks go up.

It is quite easy to add Vitamin B2 to your diet. You do not need supplements unless your doctor advises them.
