Honey is one of the most trusted items in Indian kitchens. Many people start their day with it. Others use it for fitness or immunity. That is why a new Honey Test shared by Trustified has caught massive attention online. The video focuses on Vedaka Honey, Amazon’s own brand, which claims to be pure and affordable. But what the blind lab results revealed has left many consumers concerned.

How Trustified Conducted The Honey Test

Trustified is India’s first and only 100% blind testing certification programme. Their process is simple but strict. They never inform brands about testing. Products are ordered anonymously. Delivery happens at an anonymous address. From the received batch, one sealed pack goes straight to a certified lab. This ensures fairness and avoids any influence.

For this Honey Test, Trustified chose Vedaka Honey because of its price. One kilogram costs around Rs 200. For a big brand sold on Amazon, this looks like a great deal. Naturally, it raised curiosity. Can honey really be this cheap and still pure?

The Real Problem Behind Honey Adulteration

Before revealing the lab report, Trustified explained a key issue. Honey adulteration is very common. The most basic method involves adding C3 or C4 sugar syrups. C3 syrups come from rice or beetroot. C4 syrups come from corn or sugarcane. These are widely used to dilute honey and increase profit.

However, the problem has grown bigger. A new type of fructose syrup, mostly manufactured in China, is now being sold openly. This syrup is designed to escape standard C3 and C4 tests. In simple words, honey can look pure on paper but still be adulterated.

That is where NMR testing comes in. NMR is currently the most advanced method to detect complex sugar syrup adulteration. It analyses the molecular structure of honey. This makes it harder to fool.

But there is a catch. NMR testing is not mandatory in India. FSSAI has clarified that the method needs high technical skill. It also requires heavy investment. On top of that, NMR depends on strong honey databases, which India currently lacks. Because of this, the test is not enforced across the market.

Honey Test: What Blind Lab Report Revealed

For this Honey Test, Trustified sent Vedaka Honey for blind NMR testing at Eurofins France. The result did not declare a pass or fail. Instead, it shared a finding. As per the lab report interpretation, sugar syrup adulteration was detected in the sample.

Trustified stressed that this video is meant for education, not panic. They also encouraged viewers to read the lab report themselves and form their own opinion.

The bigger question is that if advanced testing is not mandatory, how can consumers be sure about purity? This Honey Test once again highlights the gap between labels and reality.
