During work hours, multiple cups of sugary tea or coffee, combined with snacks like chips or samosas, increase calorie intake and contribute to weight gain. Lunch is often ordered from office cafes and is usually oily or processed because of time constraints. After a long day, tiredness leads many to cook quick, oily dinners and go straight to bed, creating a cycle that promotes obesity.

Dr. Singh points out that these habits are common across India and are a major reason for rising obesity levels in adults and children alike.

The Eat Right India campaign encourages people to reduce oil, sugar, and salt in their meals. Dr. Singh suggests practical steps anyone can follow:

3. Include regular exercise or yoga in your routine.

She emphasises, “Small, consistent changes in daily habits can make a huge difference for your health.”

She adds, “Remove obesity from your life and pledge to build a healthier India. It starts with small changes at home but can create a bigger impact for the nation.”
