A recent lab test has revealed surprising results that might change the way you snack. Health educator Prashant Desai from Stanford School of Medicine shared a video and wrote, “One’s a packet snack, the other’s a street king. But which one actually loads you with more fat and calories? You’ll be surprised who wins this battle.”

In the video, Prashant explains the lab test in detail. He says, “Which makes you fatter – vada pav or Kurkure? I took a vada pav from Kirti College and sent it to a lab for testing.”

Vada Pav Vs Kurkure: Calories And Fat Content

One vada pav weighed 130 grams and contained 320 calories. It had about 9 grams of fat, which comes to 88 calories from fat. That means 27 percent of the vada pav’s calories come from fat.

In comparison, a 75-gram packet of Kurkure contains 417 calories. It has 25.8 grams of fat, which is 232 calories from fat. This means 55 percent of its calories come from fat. In simple terms, the 75-gram of packet has 30 percent more calories than a 130-gram vada pav.

What Really Makes You Gain More Weight

The fat content also plays a key role in weight gain. The Kurkure packet has 137 more calories from fat than the vada pav. Extra fat not only increases calories but also contributes to gaining weight faster.

So, which is worse for your waistline? According to this lab test, Kurkure packs more calories and fat into a smaller portion. While the famous street food is heavier in weight, it contains fewer total calories and less fat.

Next time you reach for a snack, remember this comparison. A street favourite like VP might seem indulgent, but a small packet of Kurkure can actually load your body with more fat and calories.
