Health Tips: As we enter the festive season, many parts of the country are witnessing a major spike in air pollution. In major cities, air pollution is persistent at all times. However, during the fall season, it goes haywire. This pollution can have harmful effects on your health, especially the lungs. One can protect themselves by taking a few steps that can keep them healthy.
Various indoor plants such as spider plants, sword ferns, snake plants and so on can be effective to be placed in the house as they purify the air. Not only do they fill the air with oxygen, they detoxify the air while keeping the house aesthetic.
Involving yourself in regular exercise will help your body automatically fight various lung diseases. It helps the body get fitter and makes the lungs stronger. Moreover, it uplifts the mood and helps you in prolonging your life. This involves various forms of exercises such as yoga, pilates and cardio.
It is important to stay hydrated as it helps to maintain respiratory health. Like the other parts of the body, the lungs also need hydration to function properly. Therefore, water intake is a must to remove all the inhaled toxins to leave the body

Food items rich in antioxidants are great for boosting body immunity and maintaining lung health, even during harsh air pollution. Fruits such as berries, strawberries, and tomatoes are rich sources of antioxidants. Other than that, green leafy vegetables, dark chocolate and beans are also rich in antioxidants with can be added to your diet to prevent illness by boosting immunity.
