Mental Health Tips: In recent times, the world has been throwing light on mental health issues. Since the advent of social media, many celebrities have opened up about their struggles with Mental health issues. Like everyone, Hollywood superstars are humans too and go through issues. Depression is one of the mental health issues that are being talked about.

What is Depression?

Because of the lack of physical evidence of these problems, it gets difficult for many people to understand the symptoms, causes and effects of these issues. However, many professionals have said that it is mainly caused due to stress in life for people who are facing loss, trauma, loneliness and even chronic physical pain. The symptoms include persistent feelings of sadness or emptiness, mood swings, frustration, helplessness and lack of self-worth. Here are a few Bollywood celebrities who have been through Depression

Shahrukh Khan

Since his shoulder injury, Shahrukh Khan went into depression back in 2007. However, he overcame it and opened up on the mental issues he faced during the time. He also gave an insight into his personality by saying that he is a very shy and inexpressive person who struggles to show his feelings of low, anger, sadness and so on.

Kapil Sharma

At the beginning of 2023, the renowned Indian comedian, Kapil Sharma opened up on his battle with mental health suffering. He said that he was under so much suffering that he frequently faced suicidal thoughts. However, since then, he has admitted to having recovered from it and is grateful for the experience that has made him stronger.

Honey Singh

Honey Singh also revealed his struggle with depression, alcoholism and bipolar disorder. Due to these, the singer faced a downfall in his career right when he was at the peak of it.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone was one of the first people to open up about her struggles with depression. While the world was still a little unaware of mental health issues, she opened up about her experiences. She said she suffered from frequent panic attacks and feelings of emptiness in her stomach. Moreover, she spoke about not wanting to live anymore. Since her recovery, she has continued to advocate for mental health issues and has collaborated with companies and NGOs that help people with it.
