The Indian Railways are expanding their popular Vande Bharat Express service with 10 new trains planned across the country, including one on the busy Secunderabad-Pune route. This expansion comes as demand for the fully-indigenous, high-speed trains soars among travelers.
Current Scenario
Currently, SCR operates four Vande Bharat trains within the Telugu States, showcasing the popularity of these indigenous high-speed trains. With 33 Vande Bharat trains already traversing various cities and states, these services have gained traction due to their unique features, leading to consistently high occupancy ratios.
Anticipated Benefits
Railway officials anticipate that the introduction of Vande Bharat services on the Secunderabad-Pune route will cater to the diverse needs of passengers. The decision to launch ten new Vande Bharat Express trains nationwide underscores the Railway Ministry’s commitment to meeting the rising demand for efficient and advanced train services.

Besides Secunderabad-Pune, other routes slated to receive new Vande Bharat Express trains include:
- Varanasi-Lucknow
- Patna-Jalpaiguri
- Madgaon-Mangalore
- Delhi-Amritsar
- Indore-Surat
- Mumbai-Kolhapur
- Mumbai-Jalna
- Pune-Vadodara
- Tatanagar-Varanasi
