Investigating allegations of sexual assault and gang-rape by a 21-year-old woman against former chief secretary of Andaman and Nicobar (A&N) Islands, Jitendra Narayan, and labor commissioner RL Rishi, A&N police and a special investigation team (SIT) found evidence of an alleged “sex for job” racket, a report said.
During his tenure, around 20 women are claimed to have been brought to Narain’s home in Port Blair; some of them are supposed to have obtained jobs rather than being sexually assaulted, according to The Indian Express.
Friday, October 28, has been designated by the Calcutta High Court as the deadline for Narain’s attendance before the SIT.
Senior police officials claimed that the positions of cell phone towers and call data records from the phones of the 21-year-old lady and the two bureaucrats, who have since been suspended, matched the sequence of events alleged by the latter.

A Public Works Department (PWD) officer and a CCTV expert are also reported to have testified, claiming that the tapes were destroyed.
When arguing before the Delhi High Court to deny the chief secretary transit bail, the prosecution had stated that the victim’s allegation had been supported by a “protected witness” and technological evidence and that there had been instances of the accused tampering with the evidence.
