8th Pay Commission: Central employees have been waiting for months for the new pay commission.  Announcement for this already happened 5 months ago but there is no conformation for the formation of committee so far. Government employees are curious to know how much there will be change in their salaries after the implementation of new commission.

Change in Minimum Salary of Army Personnel and Inspector

•    Questions are constantly arising in the minds of central employees and pensioners: 
o    What will be the impact on their pay structure after the implementation of 8th Pay Commission?
o    What percentage change will be there in the salary? 
o    What will be the new minimum salary?
•    As per information, current minimum salary for the army personnel is 21700; other allowances are additional. If the central government implements new commission, the minimum salary can increase up to 62000 with 2.86 fitment factor.
•    For inspectors, current minimum salary is around 40000. After the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission, the salary can be around 1 lakh rupees, if the fitment factor of 2.86 is implemented. 

When will be the Formation of Committee under the 8th Pay Commission?

The announcement for new commission was done by the Central Government in the beginning of this year. It will benefit lakhs of government employees and pensioners. 
•    So far there is no clarification about the date of formation of committee. 
•    It is expected that it will be formed by the end of June 2025. 
•    After the formation of committee, implementation will be in January 2026. 
•    After its implementation, huge increment in pay will be seen. 
•    Huge increase is also expected in other allowances under 8th Pay Commission. 
•    As per information, HRA is expected to increase in metros, urban and rural areas. Government employees in tier-1 cities are expected to get more rent allowance. 
•    Dearness allowance which compensates for inflation and cost of living is expected to be revised for both government employees and pensioners.
