8th Pay Commission Report Timeline: When Will the Final Report Be Submitted? Dr. Manjeet Patel Shares Key Details

The figures such as ₹69,000 minimum basic pay and a 3.83 fitment factor are demands, not confirmed government decisions.

Central government employees and pensioners are eagerly waiting for the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. The biggest questions are when the commission will submit its final report and when employees can expect higher salaries and pensions.

According to Dr. Manjeet Singh Patel, National President of the All India NPS Employees Federation (AINPSEF), the commission’s report submission and subsequent implementation will depend on the time taken to complete the consultation, data collection and recommendation process.

8th Pay Commission: What Are Employees Demanding?

Central government employees and pensioners have raised several demands before the 8th Pay Commission, including a higher fitment factor, better pension benefits and changes in allowances.

Key demands include:

  • Minimum basic pay: ₹69,000
  • Fitment factor: 3.83
  • Annual increment: 6%
  • Minimum HRA slab: 30%
  • Pension: 67% of the last drawn salary
  • Family pension: 50%
  • Old Pension Scheme (OPS): Demand for restoration

When Can the 8th Pay Commission Submit Its Final Report?

The final report is expected to be submitted only after the commission completes its examination of employee and pensioner demands, consultations with stakeholders and assessment of financial implications.

Therefore, employees should distinguish between demands made by employee organisations and officially approved recommendations. The figures such as ₹69,000 minimum basic pay and a 3.83 fitment factor are demands, not confirmed government decisions.
