After 12 years, Missing Bihar man writes to family from Pakistan jail

In Bihar’s district Buxar a man went missing, 12 years ago. Now he has been found to be alive and lodged in Pakistan jail.

A resident of Khilafatpur name Chhavi went missing without a trace when he was 18 years old. It is being told that Chhavi was mentally ill at the time of his disappearance.

When he went missing, the family lodged a police complaint. But that time there were no clue on Chhavi’s whereabouts.

After around 2-3 year of him missing, the family believed him to be dead and with heavy heart performed the last rites.

According to media reports , “Now, the police have contacted the family, informing them that they received a letter from a man by the name of Chhavi who claims to be a citizen of Khilafatpur in India and is apparently lodged in a jail in Pakistan.”

Now the family members are awaiting the man’s return.

As per the police the letter had came from a special branch and but there is no mention of exact location where Chhavi is being held in Pakistan. Now the police have made a report filed it too. Police are trying to ensure that the Indian man is released at the earliest from the foreign jail.

Chhavi’s father has passed away when he was missing. His family member’s including mother and brother said they have corroborated Chhavi’s identity with the police and are praying for his safe return home.
