In the Jammu and Kashmir district of Poonch, in the Surankote region, militants ambushed two security force vehicles and started fire randomly on Saturday night. This resulted in the injuries of five troops, one of whom has already died and whose condition is considered critical. Following the event, everyone in the neighbourhood was surrounded.

The search for the terrorists who left the scene of the attack has begun. Additionally, senior officials have taken a stand. Terrorists have attacked military vehicles in Poonch three times in the last five months. A two-day search operation is underway following a suspicious sighting in Poonch City.

Terrorists opened fire on a car

Near Shashidhar, military vehicles were targeted by ambush terrorists. Two military trucks were making their way back to Sanai Top in the Surankote region, one of which belonged to the Air Force. The terrorists ambushed one vehicle and opened fire without regard to who was in the vehicle or where it was going. There were 14 or 15 bullet marks visible on the car's window. After the incident, five troops were hurt; they were taken to a neighbouring hospital right away, where two of them are reportedly in severe condition.

Upon receiving word about the event, more security personnel were dispatched to the scene. The security personnel have increased their vigilance and ringed the entire area because it is dark outside. Three attacks in Poonch since December resulted in the sacrifice of four soldiers and numerous injuries.

The attack happened on January

It should be recalled that terrorists killed four troops on January 12 when they targeted military vehicles in the Krishna Valley area. Military trucks were attacked in the Dera Ki Gali area earlier on December 22, 2023. It's the third attack at this point. Four soldiers were sacrificed in these three strikes, and other soldiers were also hurt.
