Arunachal Clash: More than 200 Chinese PLA soldiers entered with spiked clubs and sticks

Arunachal Clash: On December 9, there was an incident involving Indian and Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Tawang Sector of Arunachal Pradesh. 200 Chinese soldiers are said to have been part in the attack and were armed with spiked clubs and sticks.

The conflict resulted in injuries for both sides, but no one was killed, as far as is known. However, sources told news agency PTI that the number of hurt soldiers on the Chinese side would increase.
Jawans from the Indian Army reportedly prevented more than 300 Chinese soldiers from climbing the 17,000-foot summit. Snow has now covered the area. Chinese troops attempted to destroy an Indian station, but the Indian side was able to stop them.

Both participants left the area immediately

After learning of the conflict, the Congress party has criticised the government at the centre. The party asked the administration to “explain” in a “stern tone” to Beijing.
Fighting broke out between the two sides along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Tawang sector of Arunachal’s Yangste region. As they swapped blows, soldiers on both sides were hurt. During the confrontation, a few personnel from both sides suffered minor injuries. According to reports from the news agency PTI, at least six Indian soldiers were hurt during the altercation and were sent to Guwahati for medical attention.

Congress urged the Centre to convey intolerance to China in a ‘stern tone’

Congress swiftly denounced the Prime Minister after becoming aware of the unfortunate incident and advised the Centre to express intolerance to China in a “strong tone.”

The official Twitter account for the Congress, INC India, tweeted,”There is news of a clash between the soldiers of India and China in Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh. The time has come for the government to leave its wavering attitude and explain to China in a stern tone that its act will not be tolerated.”


Indian and Chinese soldiers engaged in hand-to-hand warfare in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh in June 2020, which is adjacent to the Tibetan plateau controlled by China. Following the severe combat in the Galwan Valley in June 2020, which was the most significant military conflict between the two countries in decades, relations between India and China significantly deteriorated.
