Arvind Kejriwal to meet Amit Shah on Sunday to talk over Delhi’s covid-19 situation

To discuss the adverse state of air pollution and rising covid-19 fear, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is expected to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday, that is, November 15. The meeting will likely be held at Union Home Minister’s official residence.

According to a report of Press Trust of India, the Delhi CM looks forward to seek further assistance from the Central government to tackle the covid-19 situation in the national capital.

“During his meeting with the Union home minster, the chief minister may also dicuss steps which need to be taken to arrest the spread of covid-19 in Delhi,” a source told PTI.

Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party had earlier sought help from the health minister, Harsh Vardhan, in the continuous deteriorating covid-19 situation, asking for additional beds in the hospitals run by the Centre in the city.

In a letter to Dr. Harsh Vardhan last week, the Delhi chief minister had demanded 4,900 beds keeping in mind the revised projections of 15,000 covid-19 cases in the state in the coming weeks when winter soars the highest.

Meanwhile, the CM has also emphasised that covid-19 situation in Delhi could come under control in 10 days.

“Covid-19 cases have been increasing for the last few days. I am also concerned about it. We have been taking all appropriate measures to control it. We are considering taking more steps next week. I think the situation should come under control in seven to 10 days and the cases should start decreasing,” PTI quoted Kejriwal as saying.

Meanwhile, the Air quality in the national capital further deteriorated and stood at 461 as of Sunday morning, the Delhi Pollution Control Committee(DPCC) said.
