Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann are scheduled to travel to Ayodhya tomorrow on a spiritual pilgrimage.

CM Arvind Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal: Party sources say that tomorrow, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be visiting the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The head of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will be joined by his parents and spouse. Along with him on the visit to the holy town, which has seen a surge in visitors since the major consecration event last month, is Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

CM Kejriwal’s Initial Response

Prior to this, Kejriwal said he had not received an official invitation to the January 22 “pran pratistha” ceremony. In addition, he had stated that he would rather go to the temple later with his family. Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s consecration ceremony, the temple has been visited by thousands of people from all over the nation. Cross-party leaders are also making visits to the holy town.

MLAs from Uttar Pradesh arrived at the temple this morning; a lot of it is still under construction. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined the MLAs. Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the main opposition Samajwadi Party, and his legislators did not go to the temple.

Diverse MLAs Enroute to Ayodhya

Buses carried MLAs from the other parties, which included the Congress, the BJP, Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party, the SBSP led by OP Rajbhar, the Rashtriya Lok Dal led by Jayant Chaudhary, and others, to Ayodhya. Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya accused the Samajwadi Party of engaging in “minority appeasement politics” by cancelling the trip and criticised the party for doing so.

“Members of both Houses of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature have left for Ayodhya. If anybody is not going, it is the ‘samaaptwaadi party’, Maurya told news agency PTI.
