Asaduddin Owaisi: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has lashed out at Navneet Rana, a leader from the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) for her remark on having 4 children.
Rana remarked that Hindus must produce 4 children so that the demographic setup of India does not change like that of Pakistan.
What did Asaduddin Owaisi Remarked?
Without naming Rana, Owaisi remarked he had six children and questioned what was stopping anyone from having 8 children.
Speaking at a rally in Maharashtra’s Akola, Owaisi recalled the statements of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat of having more children.
What had Mohan Bhagwat Said?
Bhagwat had remarked in the past that communities who have had less than 3 children go extinct. The RSS Chief said it is a good idea to marry at the right age and giving birth to 3 children. He went on to remark that children with three siblings find it easy to learn ego management. Bhagwat said population can be a boon as well as a burden. The RSS head added birth rate, especially among Hindus of the country, is decreasing.
The remarks of Rana triggered a political row. Congress MP Manickam Tagore called for bringing an abrupt end to such disgusting and mad thinking by the ruling party and the RSS. Tagore said we should not have such an unscientific or superstitious approach.
