Bhutan’s King and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Meet to Strengthen Ties

PM Narendra Modi: The Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and PM Narendra Modi met on Tuesday in Delhi. On April 3 to 5, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck will be in India. According to a news release from the Ministry of External Affairs, Wangchuck is joined by Dr. Tandi Dorji, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, and other top Royal Government of Bhutan officials. According to the news agency ANI, President Droupadi Murmu invited him to visit India.

The Bhutanese King’s visit is in keeping with the long-standing custom of frequent high-level interactions between the two nations. King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan and Foreign Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met today. Jaishankar stated that he “deeply appreciates” the Bhutan King’s goal for advancing the special relationship with India. S Jaishankar Tweeted, “Deeply privileged to call on His Majesty the King of Bhutan today evening. His Majesty’s vision for Bhutan’s future and for strengthening the unique partnership with India is deeply appreciated.”

Three Days Trip

President Droupadi Murmu invited Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck to visit India on Monday for three days. He was met at the airport by Foreign Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who stated that the visit will further solidify the “close and Unique ties” between the two countries.
