BJP mocks Rahul Gandhi over his visit to paddy fields in Haryana

Rahul Gandhi

In response to a behind-the-scenes film showing Rahul Gandhi assisting rice farmers in the Madina village in Haryana’s Sonipat district, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday referred to him as a “self-centered farmer.”

Rahul Gandhi’s activities in the knee-deep paddy field were captured on camera by a camera team, according to the video that the BJP shared, “Country’s first self-centred farmer who planted paddy with 4-5 cameras”.

“Camera- jivi farmer Rahul Gandhi,” BJP added in its tweet.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the same video on Twitter hours after the BJP made fun of Rahul Gandhi and referred to him as a “Prince with desperation to look real.”

Himanta Biswa Sarma in his Tweet said, “The sudden desire of the Prince (Rahul Gandhi), and his desperation, to get real is laughable!”

“But in your zeal to get captured by your photo & video team, for god’s sake, do not demean the dignity of our annadatas (farmers). The heckling of farmers to pose as a ‘farmer’ is deplorable Mr Gandhi. Get real without the reels,” Sarma added.

Congress party’s spokesperson Supriya Shrinate countering the BJP’s claims said, “Irony declared dead,” in her tweet.
