PM Modi’s mother Heeraba Modi dies; Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Kangana Ranaut lead Bollywood tributes

Heeraba Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraba Modi passed away early Friday morning at the age 100. She was admitted to the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre on Wednesday after her health deteriorated. Several stars from Bollywood including Anupam Kher, Swara Bhasker, Kangana Ranaut, Sonu Sood and others offered their condolences.

Kangana takes to Instagram

Kangana shared a photo of PM Modi with his late mother on Instagram and wrote in Hindi, “Ishwar Pradhan mantra ji ko is kathin samay mein dhairya aur shanti dein. Om shanti.”

Sonu Sood tweeted, “Respected Modi ji, a mother does not go anywhere, but many times she sits at the feet of God so that her son can do better for others. Your mother was always with you and will be with you. @narendramodi Om Shanti.”

Swara Bhasker wrote in her Instagram stories. “Condolence to PM Narendra Modi on the passing away of his mother. Prayers and strength… (sic)”.

Kapil Sharma’s tweet read, “Respected @narendramodi ji, it is very painful for a mother to leave the world. Her blessings will always be with you. We pray that Ishwar Mata ji is at God’s feet. Om Shanti”.

Anupam Kher shares a picture

Anupam Kher also offered his condolences in a tweet. He shared a throwback picture of the Prime Minister with his mother. He wrote “Respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji! Hearing about the demise of your Matashree Heeraba ji, I am saddened as well as distraught. Your love and respect for her are evident in the world. No one will be able to fill her place in your life! But you are the son of Mother India! The blessings of every mother of the country are on you. My mother too! (Translated from Hindi)”.

Vivek Agnihotri wrote, “My deepest condolences to Shri Narendra Modi on the sad demise of his beloved ‘maa’ (sic),” the filmmaker’s post on Twitter read. He also shared an old memory of PM Modi with his mother at her Ahmedabad residence.

Madhur Bhandarkar reacted to the Prime Minister’s post for his mother and wrote, “May God give the departed soul a place at his holy feet… (sic)”

Heeraben Modi dies

Earlier, informing about his mother’s demise, the Prime Minister wrote: “A glorious century rests at the feet of God… In Maa, I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values.”
