Can government vaccinate 1.30 Billons as the Indian COVID vaccine comes out?

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcing availability of vaccine in next few weeks the speculations on vaccine districution has been the centre of discussion.

In the first round around 250 million Indians are targeted for immunisation acording to the government but is it really possible?

India has 80,000 cold storage units that are used for vaccination supplies today. In order to fulfill the need of 250 milliom in the first round, the country will need 10 times more storage units.

Storing a covid vaccine may require temperatures ranging from an extreme of -70 degrees centigrade to eight degrees centigrade. Presently India don’t have the capability of storing at -70 degrees and for that the country will need 7380 crore as the vaccine comes out.

For 1.3 billion people India needs 2.6 bn syringe per person 2 dose but current production is over a billion a year.
