Centre alerts five states amid rising Covid cases’

The rising corona cases (COVID-19 cases) have become a matter of concern again in the country and in such a situation, the central government has instructed the states to be more vigilant. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra and Mizoram have been alerted by the Center on Tuesday.

The government has said that these states should keep a close watch to prevent the spread of corona virus infection anywhere and be ready to take steps in advance if needed in areas of concern.

Health secretary Rajesh Bhushan has asked these states to monitor clusters, intensify genome sequencing along with a need for stricter vigil on the pandemic situation.

“There are a few states which are reporting a higher contribution to India’ cases and higher positivity. This ministry has advised following a risk-assessment based approach on following economic and social activities,” Bhushan said in a letter sent to the states.

“Monitor Influenza-like illness on a regular basis for detecting early warning signals of the spread of infection,” he suggested.

Significantly, in these states and the national capital, there has been a significant increase in the cases of infection in this week. If we talk about Delhi itself, on Tuesday there were 632 new cases of corona, while the infection rate was recorded at 4.42 percent. No one has died of corona in Delhi in the last 24 hours. At the same time, 501 new cases of corona were registered in the capital on Monday, 517 new cases were registered on Sunday. There is a constant change in the infection rate.

Meanwhile, India on Tuesday reported 1,247 new Covid cases - a 43 per cent decline from yesterday. According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the country's active caseload stood at 11,860.
